Venture from SideWalk to Uber Funk

With a fresh decor, an al fresco dining area, friendly staff and great food and prices, Uber Bar & Restaurant is expected to become a popular niche eatery, which complements Airlie Beach’s dining and restaurant scene.

Local Airlie Beach identities Kevin Noonan and Tony Turner owners and licensees of the popular “Sidewalk Cafe” on the Airlie Beach Esplanade are delighted to announce the opening of their new business in Airlie Beach, the Uber Bar & Restaurant.

Uber is a German word which means “above”, and as Uber Bar & Restaurant is situated upstairs on the terrace at 350 Shute Harbour Road, Airlie Beach (next to the NAB), the name seemed appropriate. It also has contemporary connotations such as “Uber cool” etc.

Uber Bar & Restaurant promises to provide Airlie Beach with a contemporary late night licensed eatery, something that Airlie Beach has been lacking says co-owner Kevin Noonan. “Having successfully operated the Sidewalk Cafe for over two years, Tony and myself noticed a gap in the late night market for good quality food, beverage and ambience here at Airlie. Many tourists and residents of Airlie have expressed their desire to eat after 9pm, and in response to demand we have therefore decided to open Uber Bar & Restaurant” says Kevin.

Under the careful watch of Chef, Alanna Head from Sydney, a tasty range of high quality foods will be served at Uber Bar. Alanna has worked at Level 41, Oscars on the Rocks, Balmoral Bathers Pavilion and Aqua Dining, all leading Sydney restaurants. Alanna is overseeing the new menu at Uber and is already known in Airlie Beach for the amazing food produced by her for the Sidewalk Café night time dining.

The Uber Bar & Restaurant menu features a range of fresh local produce to please all tastes and budgets. A 2am liquor licence and a tantalising cocktail menu makes Uber Bar & Restaurant not only the venue to relax in for a night, but also a destination to start or finish off the night.

With a fresh decor, an al fresco dining area, friendly staff and great food and prices, Uber Bar & Restaurant is expected to become a popular niche eatery, which complements Airlie Beach’s dining and restaurant scene.

“We hope to feature live music and DJs on a semi regular basis, and provide Airlie Beach with a top new spot to treat the palette and the senses” says Kevin.

Uber Bar & Restaurant trades from 2pm to 12 midnight.
